Tutoring also gives me opportunity to do this by assisting other students with their learning. As a teacher (now retired) I am passionate about learning and believe in the benefits of personal tutoring. Learning, at the hands of a personal tutor, can be fun. It doesn’t have to be anything like school, physical games and activities can be employed to present concepts, for example word hopscotch and card games for number facts to name but a few. I look forward to working with students and developing programs that best suit their learning needs!

I think the best way to teach is to motivate. I had one specific student who was not interested in academic results but after much motivation and hints to the proof of where education can take you the student changed his target from a pass to a credit or above and achieved this. I think another key to tutorial success is an organised tutor and student therefore I always put myself in the strongest position pre tutorial and encourage the student to do the same. At the end of the day each student is different however preparing for these differences can combat any obstacle.
