Hi I'm Alfie! I am 19 year old student at Notre Dame studying Biomedical Science. Last year I also studied Pathology and Laboratory Medicine/Physiology at UWA before transferring. I tutor primary school and high school science up to year 12 (specialising in Chemistry and Human Biology). I also tutor maths up to year 10 (AEP level). I am friendly, hard working, approachable and patient when it comes to teaching. There are no stupid questions. I like to see what my student knows and doesn't know and then expand from there, linking concepts and going over the subject. I can provide extra work and revision to increase memory and give study tips.
My personal tuition style is quiet and supportive. I have taught people of all age ranges and different abilities. I believe that being positive is the key to achieving good results. My personality is strong and encouraging. I write regularly and my passion for writing and speaking is reflected in my hobbies, which include comedy and panel speaking.
Hi all, I have a passion for economics, physics and maths but can tutor a range of different subjects. I am currently doing a Bachelor of engineering and economics at UWA and would love to help some students out in high school as I just attained my WACE in 2015. Alex
Education should not be a burden, it should be a joy. It should also be there for all who want it, seek it and respect it. I am past primary teacher who is currently returning to general education after spending 17 years in health promotion education and training. I am also a qualified VET trainer (Cert IV TAE40110 & TAELLN411) with recent casual experience in teaching in the VET system (terms 3 & 4 2015) I am both a practical and creative teacher. I have a talent of deconstructing complex concepts into more concrete and understandable forms to help learning. I am also patient but persistent and I will work to help students who try and even if they do not initially succeed. I have a passion in helping people to learn and an affinity for working with challenging groups and students.
Hi everyone! My name is Amelia, but everyone just calls me Milly. I graduated from high school 3 years ago, but I remember exactly what school was like and how difficult it can be. Currently I am studying at university and so I know first hand what it takes to get those grades we all want. I have been tutoring various students for many years and so have experience in the field. I am a very well organised and hard working person and absolutely love my work as a tutor. I would love to give you a hand to get back on the right track with your studies and help you to become a confident learner!
My objective as a tutor is to assist students in becoming successful and independent learners. I have a commitment to education and thus view each student as a unique individual. I therefore endeavour to create a stimulating learning environment that will maximise their potential and provide support and guidance in their academic journey. For myself, tutoring provides an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in a student's life. One of my hopes as a tutor is to instil the passion for learning that will stay with a student for the rest of their life.
Over my time as a student at the University of Western Australia I have studied a few units in the Masters of Education (Secondary) and I strongly believe in helping a student experience success in their studies. My student philosophy embodies a balance of passion, ambition and positivity. As a tutor I wish to help nurture a student into a passionate and creative individual with a seemingly endless drive to achieve. I am a friendly and hard working tutor dedicated to ensuring students learn, achieve and mature.
I am a recent mechanical engineering graduate from Edith Cowan University who is motivated to help others achieve to the best of their ability. I have experience in mentoring younger students in transitioning from high school to university and believe I can make a valuable contribution to a student's understanding of maths.
I am a charismatic and personable student studying a Bachelor of Law/Commerce at the University of Western Australia. I am easy to get along with and this has been reinforced through previous students that I have tutored giving positive feedback. Depending on the age group and confidence level of the student, my tutoring style differs. For younger children, I like to promote and encourage the student to attempt the problem first if it is a concept they have already learnt. If then they are struggling with the problem or question, I like to break it down into several easy and understandable steps for them to follow. With older students, I generally try to encourage more independent learning. This needs to be balanced with being able to explain more difficult concepts in a way that is easy for them to understand.
