I feel it necessary to build a relationship with the person I am tutoring so they feel comfortable around me and hence feel easy when asking questions and getting help from me. Furthermore, i feel that confidence and having a good relationship means that I can help even after hours via messaging me questions and I can help them even after the tutoring session ends.
My educational experiences have firmly fixed my belief in the importance of positive role models influencing the lives of young people. I believe that knowledge and personal development that is cultivated will enable young people to look at the world from an informed perspective and make positive contributions to society. I enjoy being a part of this process.

I am a current student studying Commerce (Accounting and Finance) at the University of Adelaide. I have previous experience tutoring and after taking a break would love to take it up again in as I genuinely enjoyed my time in this line of work. My tutoring involves explaining key concepts and working through questions with the student without doing the work for them. I'm approachable and friendly and enjoy seeing the progress in understanding of the subject as the student learns.
I am a student studying Dentistry at the University of Adelaide, and I am very passionate about learning and teaching. Doing individual study has made me appreciate the joys of learning, where the importance of understanding and genuine interest has really made a difference. I enjoy teaching others in a way that promotes this, through logical reasoning, using analogies and really stimulating understanding rather than rote learning. During my earlier years of high school, I was guilty of rote learning, and quite often would find the easy way out when dealing with hard questions I couldn't understand. Quite often I would give myself an "illusion of competence" where I would focus on specific areas I was good at, and avoid areas I didn't understand. Growing up out of this has made me very understanding of student's mindsets, and I make a conscious effort to encourage students to ask questions when they don't understand.
