Hi, I'm Angus! I'm currently 3 years in to my Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Ancient History and the Classics and Philosophy at UWA. I have a full year of tutoring experience at a secondary school level, mostly yrs 10-12. Having just come back from an Archaeological Field School by way of a university scholarship, I'm eager to get back in to the swing of tutoring. As I am based mostly in literature and analytic subjects, I like to get my students to express their ideas verbally to me first before they start on essays and projects. I find this style of tutoring really helps them understand their own ideas in a way that is clear and succinct to others, which is then reflected in written work.

Whatever method works, I am excited to support students and witness them become enthusiastic about their learning!

I am an organised individual who enjoys being a positive role model in children's lives. Through my previous experience as a tutor, I have developed different ways to explain concepts that make it easier for me to adapt to different children and their needs.
Some people take on sport or scrapbooking as hobbies, they spend time honing their skills and building a knowledge base on their preferred activities. Learning is my hobby. When it comes to tutoring, my basic goal is to develop the tools within all my students to make them life long learners.
The basic job of a tutor is to invoke a liking for the subjects and show the light to take it to the next level in an easy and comfortable way.
I believe mathematics is a skill that everyone should learn, not just because of the real world applications, but for the way it can affect your way of thinking. I am passionate about mathematics and science, and wish to share my knowledge of them to as many as possible.
As a former Geologist, I have a passion for maths, science and the humanities and feel priviledged to have the opportunity to educate and inspire young minds. Tutoring for me forms part of a wider goal of becoming a teacher in 2018, as I am in the process of completing a Graduate Diploma of Education (Senior). I am therefore focused on helping students to achieve not only a better conceptual understanding in their subject areas, but also provide them with long-lasting, effective study skills. On a personal note, I am approachable, patient and dedicated.
